Environmental school of the Reuse Centre
Promoting sustainability since 1990
The Environmental school offers training and education on sustainable consumption to groups of all ages as well as to their teachers. We focus mainly on the 3R - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, the emphasis being on the first two. We cooperate with the Helsinki Region Environmental Services Authority that funds teaching of waste reduction in the Helsinki metropolitan area.
The Reuse Centre's experts also offer trainings on waste reduction and recycling to companies, residents and festival organisers. In 2008 our education reached 30 000 participants.
We support the teaching of sustainable consumption e.g. by being a local promoter of the EcoSchools program (Green Flag) and by sharing free materials for this topic. See the materials section.
